The technology purchasing process within healthcare facilities is complex, and a new survey revealed an additional layer of complexity – a conflict between key stakeholders in the selection process and the providers who use the equipment every day to care for patients.
Working with HIMSS Analytics, Ergotron surveyed nearly 200 IT professionals, clinicians and healthcare leaders to better understand the technology equipment purchasing and evaluation process, as well as what factors influence these decisions. The results, released as a part of National Ergonomics Month, show a communication disconnect with how decisions are made and how technology use can maximize staff productivity and enhance patient care.
These results provide additional insight into some of the factors influencing nurses’ health and the care they provide, which we discovered in our nursing survey and related infographic.
